D'uccle Thread - Page 482

Question, This is the fist time I have raised sumatras. I used to raise many different breeds over the last thirty years. I have a pair of sumatras that are 3 months old, One I know as a pullet. It has a long tail already. The other one I think is a cockerel. Its tail has not developed yet. Does the females tail develop before the males in this breed. I have 8 bantam sumatras too that are 2 month old and would like help in sexing these also. How old do they have to be before you can sex them?

                                  Thanks

                                     Mark

Hey my fellow d'uccle lovers...I have a listing under the egg bidding section and have had very little response.

I am willing to take low offers, if you know of anyone that would like some good fertile eggs from good stock (only mille fleur) let me know.  I hate to see my eggs going to waste every week.

I shipped 15 to dsfrango in CT and he reported that every single one was developing!  I pack them extremely well.

Thanks Guys,

Nathan

I bought a trio of d'Uccles today from someone local. Two are black and the rooster is white. Both the hens are laying and the person I got them from said she hatches black, white, and blue chicks out of their eggs. The rooster is beautiful but he has two feathers that have red leakage in them. One of the hens is solid black but the other one has a few feathers that have white tips??? Just a few of her feathers are. I'll get pictures of them tomorrow, to me they look like pretty good quality besides the leakage.

Where did you find a black and white trio locally? I looked for ages! Looking forward to seeing pictures.

I have also looked a lot for d'Uccles locally but everybody usually just has mille fleur and porcelains for sale. I looked on craigslist and found a week old ad for black, blue, mille fleur, and porcelain d'Uccle pairs and trios. I called and they said that they only had two black hens and a white rooster left. Pictures and a video are below. I couldn't get good pictures of the hens, the white stuff on the hens backs is Sevin dust. I didn't see any bugs on them but I dusted them just in case.

That's awesome! They must like their new home already!  I can't wait to see what babies come as a result!
