I was wondering what y'all think? I am a first time chick owner & I wanted Mille fleur D'uccles & this is what the store got me. They claimed they were labeled as D'uccles in shipping. But I thought that D'uccles never had black skin. So...what do I have? The top photos were from yesterday & the bottom from about a week ago. What ever breed they are they are sweethearts & I plan to keep them, still I'm curious! I also got 3 other Chicks of different breeds. Thanks for any input. 047.JPGday 3 & 4 005.JPG

Do y'all think I should ask for some store credit since they gave me the wrong type of chicken?

Silkies & d'Uccles get along well. If you love these chicks, then I'd see what the store is willing to do in order to get you the correct chicks.

In my mind, I was saying Deee uckle. I haven't had to say it out loud before. Now I feel prepared and will also know what people are talking about with other ways to say the word. clap.gif gig.gif

Here in Missouri, they are called dee uckles at the shows and I got funny looks when I called them 'dewclays'.  I personally want to call them 'dookles' because I think it sounds cute.

My husband has a dog & cat allergy, so we have one pet rabbit,  2 female cockatiels,  an older Barred Rock hen, 1 Langshan hen, over 2 dozen porcelain d'uccles, a dozen mille fleur d'uccles, and 11 Speckled Sussexes (1 male)   NPIP certified pullorum-typhoid-avianinfluenza free MO 43-711.

If I breed two lavanders together that both have red leakage, will all their chicks have red leakage as well?
