The one I found here was $64 for a 2010 edition, Bantam Standard was $46: http://www.strombergschickens.com/prod_detail_list/breed-standard-books

If you want a cheaper alternative then Storey's Guide to Poultry Breeds is pretty good, although a few of the pictures (like the Golden Phoenix) are not good representatives of the breed.  It is pretty good though, gives a good idea.

Does anybody know about some good shows in my area? Don't say my local fair, I'm not taking my chickens there again...

Preferably annuals.

Hdowden, fun little babies! It'll be fun to see how those silkie mixes turn out. I just sold mine to some 4h kids that fell in love with them. I like the lavender babies too, really pretty blue/purple color!

Thanks I will have to check this out. I want to try and get just one breed and try to breed them but want to do it right. I like the way my d'uccles are so maybe I will try them.
