Please be sure to let me know. I'd love to have some. Do you have any pics of your birds?

Spirit Dance...in my opinion the Self Blue dutch look good (except the roos tail) and they have blue legs which is key (I had someone try and sell me dutch with yellow legs). They both look good so if you are happy with the price I would say go for it.

As for my CLB and LB dutch eggs I cant wait for them all to start back up and I will post when my birds are ready. The rooster in the picture under my name is of my main CLB roo. I will have to take pics of My LB roos and of some of the hens. PLEASE NOTE that CLB and LB dutch HENS look almost identical.  I will have to take a pic of one LB and one CLB so you all can see the difference.

Spirit Dance:
I would suggest that you contact Jean Robocker re: type quality of the selfblue birds.  She is perhaps the person who is regarded as an authority on this breed and is Treasurer for the Dutch Bantam Club. Her e-mail address is oudfferm3@montanasky.net.  Schweiger is probably correct (definitely as relates to leg color), but a second opinion from Jean is worth the effort IMO.

I think thats a good idea.  I am not a judge and dont claim to be, and I am pretty new to dutch as well. They look to be good dutch but wether they are show quality is beyond me. I am looking into showing my dutch since they are from show stock but.... well all I can say is if the price is decent then they do look like nice dutch in my opinion.

The male, as you can obviously see, looks like he's been the victim of a feather picker and has just gone through a molt (as per the owners). But I'm hoping if I get them in a run to themselves with a nice DE enhanced dust bath, some good vittles with some polyvisol, and just plenty of good ol' lovin', he'll feather back out nicely, but I know I'm taking a chance. The question is, is their color as good as I think it is (and thus worth risking a thinner tail), or do I just have a bad flare up of chicken fever going?

I don't think they look bad, but I also think contacting Jean would be a good idea.  self-blue Dutch aren't too common & she would likely have more info than any of us here.  Also, have you tried giving that little rooster a bath &  blow-dry?  I can't tell from the picture, but it might not be feather condition...he might just be...funky.  lol  I had a little rooster that was the sole Dutch of one particular hatch, so I brooded/grew him out with a bunch of other breeds outside.  He looked a mess when I finally separated him to get him in condition to show, but the look of his feathers was just cosmetic--a good bath fixed him right up.  His tail looked much like that when I pulled him out of the pen, which is why I mention it.

First, thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the blues. I thought I had subscribed, but apparently it didn't go through and I didn't see the replies 'til now. Sorry I didn't acknowledge them sooner. I do appreciate your time and efforts in helping me.

Chicken Frenzie, to me she looks LB or BLB, although her hackles are brighter than this specimen: http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/73766_studio_ltbrndtchplt_5273_l.jpg

Here's a blue light brown that looks more like your girl: http://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/73766_blue_light_brown_hen.jpg

The only thing is the tail on your girl looks darker, but I can't tell if that's just the lighting or not. That's why I originally thought LB, but she definitely seems to have some blue to her saddle area. Whatever she is, she's gorgeous, and her expression says she knows it! thumbsup

BTW, I bought the blues along with 4 of their chicks. The roo is drop dead gorgeous! He's feathering back in after his molt quite nicely, and he has the most refined eye and well balanced head I've seen in quite some time. The hen is nice as well, although her comb is not as defined as I'd like (last two points "fused" into a single with 2 tips). However, the oldest chick I bought is showing nice definition on its wee little comb already, so papa's comb shape definitely passes on to at least some of the offspring (anyone know what comb shapes are dominant?) I will post some more pics soon, once I get a break from all the nasty weather clean-up we're doing here in NE Texas (not used to quite so much white fluffy stuff barnie )!

would anyone have some chicks for sale? I live in Michigan's UP - close to Wisconsin. I had Dutch several years ago and got out of them. I miss their personalities - they were such friendly little guys!! I don't have an incubator so eggs are out of the question.
