I never had blue Dutch. If you ask me I don't see anything strange. The appearance of chickens can change quit a bit over time. Especially after moulting.

Thank you so much for your reply. She's almost 10 months so she hasn't molted yet. The blackened face is what's causing me concern. My only other Blue birds besides Beatrice ~Dutch Bantam~ and Marionette ~Serama~ include a Silkie Rooster (has black skin) and an OEGB hen that's Self Blue and she has a red face. I'll just keep an eye on her (like normal) and I'm already trying to figure out a new location for their coop to minimize direct sunlight. Thank you again. I really appreciate your time and reply

I have 2 black Dutch. The father was a Pyle, the mother a lavender Dutch. -> Black offspring. But still red faces.

But I have another Dutch that has a blurry coloured face too (old pic).

My chickens love the sunlight. But if its warm 🥵 they need to be able to go into the shade. Some bushes and vines are perfect for that. Sun coming through in winter , lots of shade in the summer, and being able to control thr growth (cutting).
