The Welsummer Thread!!!! - Page 11

I sold my welsummer flock recently to make some room going into winter and missed them so much I tried to buy them back but the guy wouldn't sell them to me!  hit  Just one of my many mistakes!

Mother of 3 grown daughters, 1 old goat - boyfriend, 2 horses, 3 barn cats, BLRW, Light & Buff Sussex and my bird dog Gus.

Why buy the whole pig just for a little sausage!

Janie- As I see it, the only way to fix how you are feeling is to order more eggs and hatch them out. winkbig_smile

God Bless,

tailfeatherz- I stumbled across this photo in reference to red mottling in the breast.

Wellies are good for sure.
I have a few Welsummer X Marans that should start laying soon.  I think the Welsummer blood made the chicks healthier.  I didn't have any chicks with bad feet at least with the cross.  Now to wait and see about egg color.  pop

Which breed was giving you the bad feet?

I had a friend that had Welsummer/Black Marans crosses pullets and they laid dark eggs. Some have the reddish tint and the others have the chocolate tint. Those were lovely girls!
