I'm rehoming a wellie girl today. Someone contacted me off the WCNA site asking if I had an adult available for sale. Since I can't use her for breeding, I figured why not.

I have zero chicken willpower.post #7065 of 85435/3/12 at 7:07amI've never had a Welsummer go broody and hopefully I don't. I've too many other breeds that are prone to broodiness so I don't need any more. I tried placing a dozen Welsummer eggs under a small broody Ameraucana but found she could only cover 8. I've got to get her this morning to ensure she is sitting and that the remaining eggs are covered. Any not under her I will take out to place in the incubator later this week.

Quote:I wasn't thrilled with 'Ruth's shipping methods, but igot 4 Wellies to hatch from her. 3 girls and a boy.they all had a strong v shape on top of their heads and thought I got 4 girls, but I'm happy to have a roo.
Hope you get some beautiful babies too.post #7070 of 85435/3/12 at 8:36pmQuote:
I wonder if she's changed her shipping methods since then? My eggs arrived individually wrapped in bubble-wrap, box within a box, with more bubble-wrap as padding. None were broken. Were you happy with your Wellies as they matured? Would you happen to have any pics of birds or eggs you could post? And thanks for your input--I appreciate it!
