Let's talk about our beauties here, post photos and anecdotes!

I just got my girl yesterday and am sooo excited, really want to know more about the breed.

So far my Miss Coco Chanel is as sweet as coconut fluff!

She & two white silkies were bought by a family as Easter chicks for the children. They didn't want the full grown birds.
The children chased them around a lot, so now they are pretty skittish and not very trusting. Nowadays Trinity will let me stand or sit next to her as long as I don't try to touch her, which is quite an improvement to early days when she would start shrieking and flapping all around whenever I walked by.

Wow, meriruka. Here's to you for rescuing an animal that needed you!

I'd like to hear her story, too. Do you know if she's full-grown? She's so soft-looking.

Technodoll, Coco is the perfect name for your sweetie! It made me giggle and this popped out:

I love her frilly, flirty tail feathers!

I'm gonna have to find out how to send thumbnails in PMs so I stop hijacking threads. Sorry, guys.

Sigh. People are dumb

If it's not a puppy for christmas or a kitten in a birthday box, it's all kinds of other "disposable creatures".

Thank goodness these three lovelies ended up with you!!

Miss Coco doesn't look so hot anymore

She's lost most of her tail feathers (stress? finally able to walk and move around? dunno) and I had to trim/chop off a bunch of her headdress feathers as she keeps dunking her whole face in the water dish and is constantly walking around with soaking, freezing dirty feathers on her head.

We're weathering a very winder, bitterly cold blizzard today - the coop is below freezing point and I had to do something!

I guess that's what happens when chickens are taken out of a 2' x 2' box and given the freedom to roam, scratch and dunk their heads in water...

PS: She still hasn't laid an egg, although she had apparently started to lay already.

Is it from stress? Cold?
