Goodness, JJ, is the rest of your house so spic 'n span?

The chicksters are so sweet. It's going to be so hard to wait three weeks for mine to hatch-my very first D'Anvers from my own flock, finally. Took them long enough to start laying, didn't it? Would I be very, very bad if I secretly wished one would surprise me and be porcelain? hide.gif

JJ, those chicks are adorable, and Speckeldhen, looks like you will have a few to hatch too.  I hope you get many d'anvers.  How cool to start getting chicks from your own birds.

Well, it must be your wife's fault, then. When I take pictures of mine in the brooder, just don't look at the house around it, LOL.

I was leery of doing it myself, but someone who does it all the time told me it works great, so rather than hand turn a few eggs, thought I'd give it a try. So far, so good, I guess. They seem to be doing okay this way.

oh Lord yes, I have to do it all the time too, even with 6 Hovabators and a cabinet Sportsman, I still run out of room  during the peek of the year, Just make sure they are infact getting turned and there's no problem with it at all.

Good to know, especially since I just added two more D'Anver eggs into the bator, LOL. Since today is technically still Day One, if Carly lays, too, hers will go in as well. Might as well hedge my bets, eh?

ETA: Added Carly's, too, so I have 16 D'Anvers in the bator, total of 53 eggs.

You all quit. It was like 12 degrees here this morning. I have changed out frozen water 3 times today. and nothing is laying.

The only thing I am stacking is firewood.

Hey, it was 11* here, JJ, but it is winter, so can't complain. Temps going back up to closer to normal for us, 50's in day, 20's-30's at night. Our last frost can be the 3rd to last week of April. I stacked two more eggs in there, long story about why (not d'Anvers) so I have 55 and that is absolutely the final total.
