I recall that one of my milles had what appeared to be barring, too.

We have pippage! Both of the D'Anver x lav Cochin eggs were pipped first thing this morning on Day 19. Can't see any others pipped. It surprised me! Now, we get to see who was the daddy-could be a different sire for each chick, I suppose.

So, black means either Rufus or Rusty is the sire. Lavender means either Aubrey or Angus is the sire. Seems simple enough. I can't wait! Oh, there was a little girl about 3 years old in the dr. office with her grandparents this morning. Talk about perpetual motion! She was the cutest thing. Her name was Aubrey, LOL.

Here it is! First D'Anver x Lav Cochin baby! Looks to me like either your namesake or Angus is the daddy, judging from the color.

The other egg, same mama, has a large pip on the side, but isn't zipping yet. No other pips in the bator. We're entering Day 20 now. I hope someone joins this little cutie soon, but there may be no new pics until tomorrow at this rate.

yep definitely aint black there.

dont worry too much, mine usually hatch over a 2 day period. Some times they all fly out within a few hours of each other, but they usually start pipping on Friday and finish up some time Sunday on average

Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty, well-preserved body. but rather, to skid in sideways, totally worn out and exhausted while shouting loudly "WOW! What a ride!"
