Holiday "detox" diet

That sounds pretty bad, unless it was maybe sushi.

Cutting out meat for a while would probably make you feel better, but if you can't do it, just go for fish and lean poultry. Sardines or salmon would be a good choice of fish -- they are both low in mercury.

I really think if you tried the raw food diet that you would be impressed. It will make your eyes bright and shiny, which is always a sign of good health, and will remind you of how beautiful you are. I'm serious.

Southern28, I think for three days, if you really eat tremendously healthily and with lots of water (no salt), you WILL feel better. Psychologically too, because you'll have gained back control over your body that Christmas sweets & indulgence have stolen away.

I know I feel the same way as you do, and I've resorted to plain oatmeal for breakfasts and Spicy Hot V8 juice for snacks. I've been exercising all along, but no weight loss because I've been piggy otherwise.

You'll feel more like yourself soon! Your post has encouraged me to attempt some of other people's good ideas too. (Like just now, my co-worker was breathing chocolate as she was talking to me, and I ALMOST asked her to share her chocolate, but I didn't!)

Eat healthy, drink plenty of fluids, get out and about and do some aerobic exercise. That should clean your system, and anyone else's, right up, methinks. Essentially, eat healthy, drink fluids, and be active.

I used to eat raw food one day a week. This is great because you almost have to eat fruits and veggies. I usually have raw oatmeal and yogurt for breakfast, fruits and veggies for lunch and some type of gazpacho in the evening. I don't usually do this in the winter, but in the summer its great. All the fresh fruits and yummy veggies. It also helps you remember how food is supposed to taste, without sweetners, butters, fats, and additives. I cheat and have coffee, I need those two cups a day.

IMHO. the words "Detox", "Diet", and "Scam" can be exchanged freely in almost any sentence.

Most people associate the word diet with not being able to eat something. Remember, your "diet" is defined as what you eat on a regular basis not what you can't eat.
Most "Detox" programs are very restrictive or exclusive in the foods (or lack of food) you get. This sudden diet change shocks your system into doing some strange things and they call it "Detoxing", I call it death throws.

The only real way to detox your body is to stop eating toxic substances!

It takes time, no way around it. Start eating right now and I guarantee in a week or two you'll begin to feel better. (usually within a few days)

Lots of fruit, lots of veggies, whole grains, etc...

Anything that promises a quick fix for twelve easy payments of $39.95 is a scam.

Go to the library and pick up a book called "Picture perfect weight loss" Very eye opening.
(I know you aren't interested in weight loss but it promotes healthy eating and food choices.)

OK so far today I had sushi, carrots, celery, banana and raspberry...all raw. I'm feeling better already.
