Plymouth Rock thread! - Page 249

I'm in search of a few heritage Barred Plymouth Rock pullets/hens. Anybody know of contacts in the New Hampshire- Vermont area?

Much appreciated.

There's so little to fear from hatching even chickens dare. In fact, it's so easy a turkey can do it.

Those are some very dark color full chicks. They look like standard rhode island red chicks. What strain are these babies from originally? There are not many strains left today. Bob

Need a gift for a love one go to my web site and look at my custom turned ink pens. A portion of my profits goes to charitys in our local area and one poultry club The Panhandle Poutlry Club in Penscola Florida. Two shows one in March and December

I have a freind in Cantoment Flordia which is just a little above Penscola who has Dicks birds. He has been looking for some onther bird he should see this post anden send you a messagage some time. Dick also, got a female or two from Superior Farms when they closed down and crossed her onto his line which gave him a little more size. Hope fully, we can get a few more people to raise this strain to help get the numbers up. The total numbers of Partridge Rocks is about as low as you can get. During breeding season I bet there is less than 75 birds alive.

So for you who want to try and help keep a Breed from going from extenition you would be pleased with this strain as they lay pretty well, they have good meat qualities if you eat your birds and are they pretty as chicks and adults.
