Okay this is what Illia says about the color:

Nope, he's a melanized Gold Duckwing carrying the Columbian gene, which reverses his colors, thus, he only appears to be carrying dominant white. He'll make some fine Sex-Links for ya.

Illia you sound like a politician!  gig.gif   hide.gif  Sorry couldn't help myself, actually Illia is awesome about anything genetics and color, she is a wealth of info.  bow.gif

It was actually a link for what color they are.  Most have been white with a black line from head to tail. Some have been typical chipmunk color.  One was black.  Nothing spectacular.  yet...I will see what I can do about pictures tomorrow.

After re reading my post it looked like the link would lead to chick pictures... sorry.  I still have some babies.  Most are clean faced so I have been trying to sell them.  I think I have 6-8 left.

I have two flocks of girls Oreo is over one, the other flock doesn't have a roo yet.  But I have on order blue and splash NN's, I will chose a favorite roo from that batch to go over my other EE flock and add a few blue and splash NN hens in each flock at the same time, hopefully that will add some cool interest to the color gene pool.  And I will still be able to tell the eggs apart as all my EE lay colored eggs.

Wow I have a handsome Roo that looks similar to the boys posted earlier, may I ask how big your boys are? Captain Morgan as My Hubby named him is Huge! :) it's quite odd that this pic makes him look smaller and the girls look big when it's the opposite. Love my boy very good with his girls. Not a close up but you get the just, yes the brahma is tail less and he is beardless we had a feather plucker the has been removed.

I have hatched 7 chicks from him and my 2 barred Rock girls and all are pure black with no head Spots, all feathering out completely black too.

Very cute looking chicks that i will be keeping to watch them grow up, have more chicks growing in the bator. Here are the last 4 hatched.

Grummpyantsmom   nice pictures ! You have a good variety of colors and patterns.   I think that your rooster looks just fine and large also.  I had a gorgeous EE rooster from an ad on Criagslist and he was too aggressive. But i miss his wonderful colors. i now have a White Ameraucana rooster that is handsome and not human aggressive but since he is young maybe has too much testosterone. So he now resides in a bachelor pen with my young but beautiful blue laced red NN cockerel.  Tough life for those two !

Kassaundra I agree that IIlia is the best when it comes to posting genetic information. How is your garden. I can't stand it. Chicken math is bad, but plant math is much worse.  Maybe it is my addictive personality trait.he.gif

Question:

I have 5 babies.  They are by a Buff Laced Polish rooster over Blue Easter Egger hens, all the babies turned out white one or two have black spots.  I know that a Buff Laced is actually dominant white so I figure that all babies will be white.

Now the question:

When breeding those babies will they continue to carry the dominant white, and only have white babies too?

DMRippy -- Thank you, I have been wondering about Rox for awhile now.  I appreciate you and Kassaundra's information---and the roosters look a LOT alike.

Grumpypants - Adorable chicks.  What an interesting set of babies.  I have 2 barred Rocks as well.  --- You are giving me some ideas here.....  Great pictures of the chicks.

I agree grummpyantsmom.

Flower, my garden is going well, been planting up a storm have tons more to plant, got several new plants I'm trying out, and a couple of new methods.  A couple of the plants I'm most excited to try are some tomatoes from Iraq, I figure if they can grow in the Iraqee desert surly they can handle Oklahoma, tatume squash, poon kheerna cukes, and rat tail radish. oh and I almost forgot trying sorghum too.  For me plant math is soooooo much worse then chicken math!!!!
