Thanks guys!! I know you all are the egg-sperts!!! fl.gif

I am going to say that Saylor, Coral, and Ariel are boys based on comb development. Marina has some thick legs which are another boy trait, but I can't see the comb all that well which would be a definate clue. Pearl I am not sure about since he/she has a single comb, and I have very little experience with sexing single combs. Our last batch of chicks the only single combed ones were bought already sexed. Shelly definately looks girlish.

Here is my new baby EE! She(hopefully) is so sweet and round! I know it's a long shot, but if anybody wants to take a whack at guessing gender that'd be cool.

I hatched some SG Dorking eggs and later found out that they were crossed with Americauna. These would be a type of EE?

With this type of cross, will the breast feathers still be different with Cockerels and Pullets?

I will post pictures later.

Hey everyone...

I am super excited! Yesterday I purchased three 1 day old Bantam EE chicks. They are straight runs so I am hoping for hens but I will have to wait and see. I am curious to see what color they are when they are done growing. One is solid white with black specks on the wings, one is a beautiful silver/ dark grey, and the other is yellow with black/brwn stripes running down its back and head. I am really really new to chickens so any advice or tips/tricks that you can spare would be fantastic and greatly appreciated.

Oh yea, I also have three 2 week old RIR, two 1 day old white crested polish bantams, and two 1 day old domineques. Do ya'll think that I will have any problems integrating them as a flock and when should I attemt to put them together? Right now I have them in two seperate brooders.

They would be EE, I don't know about the breast feathers, maybe someone else will.

I wold keep the bantams separate for a long time.  I had to remove some Ameraucanas and SLW from a pen with my Marans,  they looked tiny in there with those giant chicks.  Same hatch too.    I would think you could put the LF together pretty soon,  A week maybe.... I don't find that I have a problem with a 2 week age difference if I don't put the together right away.  Let the new babies get some size and then put the together.

I started my own thread, but have had no input on the genders of my two white EE's. Anyone here have any guesses?

They are 6 weeks old in the pictures - though they are 1 day shy of 7 weeks now.

_MG_6448.jpg
I have two brown ones that look the same - I am 99.9% sure they are pullets

_MG_6335.jpg
I can only tell them apart by the colour of their legs. One has green legs, one has slate legs.

This IS a boy, right? I call him Stanley.
