Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

post #6282 of 113585/9/12 at 5:10amWell. This EE sexing is hard.
I would have said both are girls, but I can't envision what Zoe/Joe's profile would be from that angle. I even visited the EE sexing thread and I'm just blind to it. Heheh. I think both birds are beautiful.

post #6284 of 113585/9/12 at 9:40amI did my head count! After I noticed the hawk was taken my biddies. I lost 11! All the babies are locked up now. I converted 2 10x10x6 dog kennels to serve as a summer hang out. I was free ranging them with the adults. That didn't work out too well. Once that hawk found them that was the end. But now I know what I have to sale. I have 6-7 week olds. Anyone live in the area and wants some let me know. If not freezer camp at the end of summer! The roo is a french standard splash maran the hens Ameraucacas, EE's and BCM. Most of the EE biddies have feathered shanks. All the marans have feathered shanks.
I have for sale:
15 blue olive egger pullets
10 BCM cockerels
3 O EE cockerels
2 blue copper Marans cockerel
1 maran cochin cockerel
2 splash O EE cockerels

We got our spring chicks on Sunday.
I think this little cute one that kinda looks like an owl is an Ameraucana. We ordered 12 of them. It's a new breed for us this year!
I honestly can't think of anything else in this world that is as cute an Ameraucana chick.

I originally posted the above message and picture in the Ameraucana thread because that is what we ordered however
it was quickly pointed out that I have EE's instead of Ameraucanas,
So I'm posting the same image here hopefully someone here will enjoy and appreciate the little chicken as much as I do! Isn't she cute???
