Very nice and congrats! If those are brown spots I see, expect some neat variation from time to time.

Humm most of the time the olive egg is solid. But that one had spots. And the giant cochins egg is always tan with gray spots. I can't wait to see what the new girls I crossed this spring will lay. I know it will be some sort of olive!

The mint green eggs are EE's, the tan egg with gray spots is from a giant cochin, the chocolate egg is a black copper maran and that olive green egg is from a maran x EE.

I used to have a pair of the sweetest most wonderful EEs who laid perfect mint green eggs. This spring they were taken by a hawk. I also have a flock of Blue Ameraucanas that lay bright blue eggs. They are lovely, but I'm missing my green egg layers.

So I'm thinking of breeding some EEs into my flock. I'm curious. What breeds do you guys think make the prettiest EEs? I love projects, and I've seen some strikingly beautiful birds in this thread.

Black Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans, White Marans, Easter Eggers, BBS Ameraucanas, Jersey Giants, Cream Legbars, and Silkies

It depends on the color and size you want. I put a splash maran over my EE's and got blue offspring that lay olive eggs. Some had feathered feet others had single combs. I culled hard and was left with 5 clean legged pullets out of 50 strait run chicks. I have 3 two week olds I think are going to be clean legs. I will be setting some more this week for the last batch of the year. I love seeing what genetics comes up with in EE's you never know.

What is left of my 75 chicks. I ended up with 6 BCM pullets, 4 olive egger pullets 2 olive ee cockerels.

but I love the colors.

If you still have your BBS Ameraucanas, you can always make green laying EE's from them with brown or dark brown layers. Most if not all of your options will give you the same results though - blue or black offspring, beard/muffs, and either blue or white legs. Only a few candidates would give a little more color, such as laced birds.

I have a pen of mixed breeds and in the last week have been getting mint green eggs with LOTS of brown spots.  They are so pretty.

Glad to see your's Peach!!!  Aren't we lucky!!

The eggs are so pretty, sometimes I just leave them on my kitchen counter for a few days to look at...seems a shame to crack them.  LOL

My 'baters are full right now....can't wait to hatch out some of those beauties!!
