I've heard of someone selling the carton for a few bucks and the eggs are thrown in for free!   wink.png  (The revenuers will probably catch up to them someday- gotta get their cut!)

I'll have to look into it.  Rinse the eggs with warm water (not cold) right?  Great idea...sell the cartons and the eggs come free!

Chickens include 1 Light Brahma rooster, 10 Brahma hens, 11 EE hens, 4 Black Australorp hens, and currently hatching out brahma X EE chicks.  I also enjoy sheep, a great dane, barn cats, beehives, and organic gardening.

Yes, warm water.  And, I only took the class to meet people who would talk chicken with me and nobody even wanted to see my chicken pictures!!!!  hahaha!  My husband thinks I've gone nuts over these chickens.  Well, what else do I do when all my children and grandchildren moved to all parts of the country.  Gotta baby something, right?

Mother to 4 wonderful children, grandmother to 4.  1 DH (39 years), 1 pug, 1 Basenji, 1 dashshund mix (notice I put my DH in that same group! hahaha)  6 EE's, 1 Buff Orphington, 1 RIR, 1 Silkie, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Brown Leghorn, 1 Polish, 1 Welsummer.  Hope to fill my basket with different colored eggs!

Our chickens are our babies too.  Its a family thing.  My daughter is 9, she is in 4-H, and loves it!  I feel like I could raise chickens for the rest of my life!

I wanted to add that in TN you have to sanitize the eggs and have a separate refrigerater, a place to wash the eggs and new cartons with lables.

That sure is PINK!  Very cool. I got 2 EEs (one's a roo sad.png) to increase chances for blue eggs, but pink would be good too. I see more EEs in my future. Chicken math is coming!!!!  yippiechickie.gif
