Oh I love to talk to my chickens. Most are very vocal back and when I'm doing stuff in the yard(weeding, pruning, walking and planting) I've got a few chickens that just HAVE to come and help. One of my BigOl BO's she'll just follow me around and help dig and weed, but not really help planting BUT she will unplant things all day long!!! LOVE THEM!!!

My Ultra Mini-Farm contains BO and BR's and EE, BlkJG, Silkie - 2Dogs, 1parakeets, Pimped Out Hermit Crabs and a small Japanese Garden with pond. I grow Blackberrys, mini-garden with herbs. I raise Orchids and Bonsai trees and make hypertufa pots..with all Smiles cause it's my little piece of happiness

Well I have three young birds that I've been keeping in the garage until they are able to go in the coop with the big girls.  Well at first when I would go visit them at night, they would get on the roost at the far side of the cage.  So I started singing lulabies.  As I sang, they started shifting closer and closer to me and would end up leaning on each other towards me!  Their eyes would start to close and they would actually make humming noises to go with my singing!  It is so sweet!

Mother to 4 wonderful children, grandmother to 4.  1 DH (39 years), 1 pug, 1 Basenji, 1 dashshund mix (notice I put my DH in that same group! hahaha)  6 EE's, 1 Buff Orphington, 1 RIR, 1 Silkie, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Brown Leghorn, 1 Polish, 1 Welsummer.  Hope to fill my basket with different colored eggs!

Are Bantam EE bigger than a true bantam but smaller than a standard chicken? Mine are looking mighty big next to my Belgian D' Anvers.idunno.gif Anybody have any pictures of theirs in the chick, teenager and adult stages?

I don't have eggs yet, but here's a try at it.  Take a look and see what you think.
