I might not be a double yolker. It should have a seem with a bigger flat part if it is double yolked.

Please let us know and take a picture if it is.

Is that 5 toes or a spur?

Do I have a EE cockerel with no tail? At first he looked like he was growing normal tail feathers now they seem to be growing like the Araucana's(sp) I have seen. He's around 10 weeks or so. thanks

Dorkings have 5 toes. She is a SG Dorking and possible mix - her mother was in a pen with with an Ameraucana Roo two weeks before the SG Dorking Roo. The three chicks that hatched were two obvious EEs and her. She looks like pure SG Dorking, but if she lays a blue or green egg then she is an EE too.

I'm going to brag a little.  I posted a couple of months ago (before I knew if boy/girl) but now they are growing some beautiful feathers.

This is Morelli. He's turning into quite a handsome boy.  He's got some feathers that have a lacing effect to them that I'm liking quite well.  If he stays a good boy (he's skittish which also makes it difficult to take his picture), then I'll keep him so he can make more EEs with Snowy (my only EE girl).  He's taking that job quite seriously. 

  This cockerel I've decided to let go...I just haven't decided if I'm going to sell him or eat him myself.  He's friendly, I can have him eat seeds out of my hands.  And his pea comb flops to the side in a cute way. (hard to tell in this photo but it doesn't sit perfectly straight up)    Also, hubby is getting irritated by the crowing.  If I get rid of one of two crowers, I should have only half of the amount of crowing.  

I also have a Barred Rock cockerel and only 10 girls so someone needs to go.  I'm going to have a hard time choosing between the BR and the EE for final rooster decision.  Before I got the EEs, I bought 3 female BRs and 1 male BR with the intentions of allowing a broody BR to hatch BR chicks.  Now I have one EE pullet and one horny EE and I think I could get EE chicks.  All my birds have access to each other so I could end up with EE/BR crosses. I wasn't planning on becoming a breeder, just wanted cute chicks.  Question is....do I want to keep the breeds "pure" (I know EE's aren't pure breeds) and if so which one to keep, or do I care what I get and just get some cute yet possibly strange colored chicks?  I guess I can just wait and see two things: 1) Can I tell the BR eggs from the Sex-link and Production Red eggs (so to collect the BR only eggs for hatching) and 2)  which roo turns aggressive and which one stays respectful.  Of course, I could just say good bye to all the boys and buy new chicks in the spring like my dad always did.

Not sure about the status of the tail, but the comb and thick legs are showing a very nice looking cockerel.

And here are Ethel and the newly re-named "Rucifee" (what one of the little mice in Cinderella called the Step-Mother's cat...

 who was named Lucifer). They are now going on 5 weeks..still in the 4 week stage...
