Yes, I have 5 Dark Cornish chicks, 5 Phoenix chicks, 11 Kraienkoppe chicks, and 12 Sumatra chicks right now.
Yep , both silver duckwing
The hen was a blue silver dw from Cat and the roo was a black silver dw from Toni. Was just planning to work on blue silver dw with this breeding but ended up getting half and half. Got a few blue silver duckwings and then silver gingers pullets and that nice blue silver ginger cockerel piced a few post back

I see. the blue swdw is probably the one carrying the ginger. I get gingers cropping out of my birds too.. I had a son from my black rooster bred to my splash hens who was blue when born, but has slowly turned cream blue ginger.. Very interesting... I like the surprises..!

me too.. it's always nice to get something you werent breeding for to pop out and give you a new color to work with...
I agree though, It's got to be the blues that have it. The normal silvers I have had for years and never had any come out of them. But last year when I added the blues in the mix, they started popping up

So far it looks like 3 white chicks, one from the goldens and the others from the silver hen pen. Then one silver and 3 goldens. Looks like that will be all that hatch for the next couple weeks til more go in
the main difference I see at this point is the lack of lacing... the quail start getting lacing in on the black body pretty quick, these just look chocolate, but the down patterne looked as if it was almost identical. That tan face comes with all the quail patterns. So far from everything I have hatched, they are the only ones that have been a solid body color with a tan or cream face.... Maybe that will be of some help??
