Onadadori, what color do the breast feathers come in for female?
Beautiful birds you have!

Yep I love my blue eggs phoenix also...I made these about 10 years back...I just like a few colored eggs besides the plain old plane ones from the average phoenix..I'm glad to see there are others out there that do also....The only thing is there still pea comb... I here the comb is linked to the egg color...I know my genetics but not to good when it comes eggs color ..TM

On a silver duckwing, they should be salmon, but I have seen white breast feathers on hens/pullets too.. Roosters will be black.. Anything but black, means you have a hen..

You have pretty much thought of everything under the sun I am sure.. After you breed for a few years, you get adventurous I guess.. Or tired of the same old same old..

Yes, they are very closely related.. You can separate the two, as I have some brown leghorns here that will be  single combed and lay blue eggs, but it is difficult as they are so closely tied.. I will probably just pen these off for our "eating eggs" because they are so much neater.. It just looks nice like you said to have blue, tan, brown, and some white eggs all together.. Rather than the plain ones... OH, I read your post on another forum about liking spangled birds.. I have been crossing my spangled hamburgs with my phoenix.. the chicks look pretty good so far.. I used the splash red shouldered roo, so I should get some that are red with blue spangles, that I can breed and get red with white spangles.. Just thought it would be pretty....

Thank you! Here's hoping there's no black.

That's a beautiful mix! I wish they came in that color right there.

And are these chest feathers? I thought my 4 chicks didn't have chest feathers but they might. Is this any indication of gender? It doesn't look black......but these's darker shading.

They all look just like this. Thank you for your patience.

That picture you posted is one of the prettiest birds I've ever seen. Somehow I'll bet "splash red mottled" isn't easy to come by lol!

You have officially made my whole month guessing pullet on that picture! Thank you.
