I've been getting a LOT of questions about duck diapers lately, so I thought I'd post a topic about it...

I do in fact make diaper harnesses for ducks (I am testing to see if they fit chickens, turkeys, quail, other fowl etc... If you have these animals and would like to test for me, pm me!). The harness is like a little suit the duck wears around it's body. It has a pouch under it's vent that holds half of a baby diaper (I just cut diapers in half and place them in the pouch). The baby diaper absorbs the liquid and can be changed. The harness simply holds the diaper to the body so poop doesn't end up on the floor. The harnesses are washable ands durable. Depending on how often they are worn, they can last over a year. My ducks wear their diaper harnesses nearly everyday for about 2-4 hours at a time and are still wearing their first harnesses (they are 1 year and 4 months old). I am also testing harnesses for baby ducks and disposable harnesses for adult birds with injuries so keep an eye out for them at our website...

We are currently accepting orders through email from our website, but our store is not up and running yet. Since we are still waiting on the store, we have special prices for the harnesses... We made a nice swatch list for those wondering what colors/patterns i currently have. You can check out the available fabrics and the prices by going to www.indoorducks.com

Anyone with questions feel free to reply here or pm me!

I'm interested in duckling harnesses when and if you design some. I'm not going to have any new ducklings for another month, but I'd really like to let them walk around the house, but my whole house is carpeted. So if you need a guinea pig in a month for them I'm interested!

I am currently testing the baby diaper harnesses now... Goat_walker is testing a few designs for me, and I have babies coming in next week that we're going to use as models. lol.

Someone has offered to test the diaper on chickens so far, but i might need another test subject depending on sizes, shapes, etc. I'll keep you guys updated on what i need to test. I might need a bigger roo to test-Shadowhillsfarm, I'll let you know in a couple days!

I am still looking for a few other test subjects including-
turkeys
peafowl
guinea fowl
quail

If anyone is interested in testing for me, please pm me! I take test subjects on a first come first served basis...

Here
are my duckies in their beautimus harnesses

Nettie - See how tight it is on Goon's chest? And he is only two months old! lol But thank you so much! I absolutley LOVE these harnesses. And Georgia ( The Doggy duck whispered) wanted me to tell you thank you so much for the new outfits because now she can take them on walks around the house. Instead of imprinting on me they follow her around

I've known some people to put diapers on a turkey and i'm sure i've seen pictures of it somewhere online, lol. I just want to be able to offer a harness size for any fowl... Diapering ducks or chickens or any other fowl isn't necessarily for those who want house pets... the diapers are also good for animals that need to be transported to the vet, or injured/sick animals that need to be sequestered or need to be brought inside to recover. Soon we'll have up pages about the duck shoes and the wing wraps up on the page too!

I just heard of diapers for ducks when I saw your post tonight! Wow, what a great idea

(a Christmas gift from my hubby). I love your diapers for ducks and so many different reasons to use them (inside, nursing back to health, vet...) . This may sound like some stupid questions but, how often do you change them? Do you need to start ducklings getting use to them (for occasional use) or can you just put one on an adult? I'll have to hint around to my hubby for my Birthday

I was browsing your site last night. I'm probably going to need to bring my handicapped Gal (Pekin) in the house for a while, she's in a very heavy molt and the other ducks started pulling her loose feathers out so she's had some bleeding and has some bald spots. If the freezing weather comes back I'm bringing her in with us. My Husband says no to buying a diaper harness for her...well she's coming inside diaper or no diaper...maybe he'll change his mind after a few days (I hope LOL). Personally I like the idea of having them on hand in case a Duck becomes hurt or ill and needs to be inside for special care. Nettie, do you take credit cards (other than through paypal?) , I do have a Visa gift card in my purse that I could use.

Goat_Walker, I love seeing the photos of your babies in their harnesses!

Michelle
