My five week old chicks keep going onto one side and stretching out a wing, all three do it. Is this normal?

Hi avroncotton.  Mine are also 5 wks.  They stretch wings, stretch legs, lay on their sides in the sun.  It's hard to say for sure that what yours are doing is normal, but it probably is fine.  I think it's just a bird thing.  smile  Sometimes when they dustbathe they wind up almost upside down.

The laying on one side with a wing stretched out is totally normal.

They're taking a sunbath! Basking in the warmth, no problem. Even my adult hens do that on a sunny day.
