New Hampshire!! - Page 22

Thanks, but I know where all the feed stores are. I have just heard of people talking about driving to feed mills like where the food is actually made and supposedly it is like 1/2 the price of the feed store food. Im only looking because im going to be raising broilers and want to spend little money to make raising the meat finacially worth it.

I am a Wife and a Mother. We have 2 dogs, and our always growing flock of chickens(Barred Rocks, White Rocks, Silver Laced Wyandottes, Easter Eggers, Olive Eggers, Marans, Japanese Bantams, Silkies, Silver Laced Cochin, Silkie/EE crosses, and a Cream Legbar Roo). We also have Bourbon Red Turkeys!  And now Ducks!!! Soon to be arriving Nigerian Dwarf doelings.

Hello NH Peeps!!  Happy 4th!

I have a 2 week old chick who may be in need of a buddy.  I may need to take her from momma and I don't want her to be alone.  Anyone have a chick about this age that they want to part with? Or know where I can acquire just 1?   I prefer a she to a he if you know the sex. :-)

Thanks,

Kelly in Rumney

I would look on craigslist. There are always chicks for sale.

Thanks chicken pickin.  I have been looking there, but the ones I'm finding are all older.  I continue to check though.

Feed is not getting wet, it is in feeders hung six inches off the ground inside the coop. Bedding is shavings, purchased at West Leb Feed and changed whenever they get too poopy. I never throw feed on the ground, though I do let them out to pasture under supervision so they eat grass and bugs and I realize that's an easy way to be exposed to things from wild birds. At any rate, whatever it was seems to have passed. I lost the two cockerels back when I originally posted about this and that was the end of it. At least it seems to be the end of it! Fingers crossed.
