Quail egg colors. Button Quail, 2 hens laying green and 1 laying brown

Very common to see slightly different color eggs and differences in the spotting

Not to disagree with you, but that is not always the case. I currently own ONE quail hen, one roo. (Coturnix) and the hen lays a speckled one day, a solid greenish/blue the next, and often a white! They are housed by themselves, and the rooster is obviously a rooster as I have incubated with some success.

Button quail will lay different color eggs BUT depending on diet, the egg color can change due to epigenes. A hen normally lays the same shade egg, but it can change by diet change. For example, if you add vitamin C to the diet, or more vitamin C to the diet, the egg color can get greener. Lack of calcium carbonate can make egg color duller and the shells more fragile.
