So, have y'all ever considered....?

New Chick -

I understand where you are coming from but actually the Bible tells us in Gensis that God has given the trees and fruit for us to eat -

Gensis 1:29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Man does not begin to eat meat until after the fall of man and the flood. God did not origanally create our bodies for meat but we began to eat it after we fell from the grace of God.

About the belief that you do not get all of your nutrients from a plant-based diet. The only thing you are unable to recieve from plants is vitamin b-12 which is in the micro-organisms (aka bacteria) in the meat. All other vitamins and nutrients are easily obtained from fruits, veggies, and grains.

If you have any other questions I'd be glad to answer them.

With not knowing what you are getting, how fresh etc, it is better if you can have some meat birds, turkeys, your own eggs. We did raise a couple of beef cattle for that purpose. If you are going to eat meat it might as well be what you have raised and know what it has consumed and not been given steroids or who knows what!

I thought about our chickens the other day and how lucky they actually are, so many people eat eggs and those eggs could have been chicken. So even with a short life span of a meat bird it is far better off than the egg.

I don't want to turn this into an argument.

COREY NC:

Deuteronomy 14:11, 12, 19, 20.
You may eat any clean bird. But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture, all flying insects that swarm are unclean to you; do not eat them. But any winged creature that is clean you may eat.

-runs in real quick- EDIT. Thought of a better way to put this. But no time now, it's alot to type. I'll be back. Hugs for all. xoxo -runs out-

Within the same book it also says to stone a child to death when it does not listen and that you should murder all people who do not believe in God even if they are your own family.

Why do we feel the need to kill? We don't need animals to live, when you slaughter an animal does it struggle? Does it fight for it's life? Yes it does. Do you know why? Because it does not want to die! They understand death and they know they don't want it.

I think I will stop here, I don't believe you will change your mind and I know I won't and I enjoy our friendship and I don't wish it ruined.

Yeah. I could go on too. Those rules were overturned after the death of Christ, though. Alot of things were changed after Jesus died.

We both have our opinions. And I agree. I'm stopping. -hugs-

My, this thread is interesting. I like my meat. People have been eating meat for a long time. We cook our food, and we can prepare it, and that's why we don't need teeth like a carnivore. Humans are omnivores, meaning we eat both.

People are free to not eat meat if their religion dictates so (or the believe it to dictate so), but that doesn't mean that others shouldn't eat meat.

Jeez, all this talk of meat is making me excited for dinner! I can't wait to eat that fried chicken my mama made for me

Just can't stand it when people bring religion into a discussion as to why we should or should not do something. I'll leave it at that.

The thing I always find funny about these arguements is plants are living things to. There is scientific fact that plants interact, and move to human inraction. Ther even has been proof that plants respond to pain. So even though plant dont have feathers and noticably react to your presents doesnt mean you are not killing your meal. It can be true that are delicous eggs we have for dreakfast could have supported the life of a chick. But the seeds and nuts vegitarians eat could have grown into another plant. Our bodies are designed to eat meat starting with the fact that we have canines. Our bodies easily digest meat, regardless to weather or not we cook it. My father in law loves his steak browned on the outside and still bloody in the middle. There are countless times in the bible where they eat meat even before the co ming of Christ and the flood. It shows it in Caine and Able. Anyway to wrap it up, everyone has killed living things to sustians thier health. Vegitarians are just as guilty as us fried chicken, meat lovers. And honestly the only way you could not kill a living thing for food is if you learn to love eating dirt and rocks, but be carful there as well you dont want to kill any bacteria.
