Jersey Giants thread for pictures and discussion - Page 333

I have 7 at breeding age. 14 new chicks , 1 splash cockerel I'm thinking of keeping back of a started age. I have 29 Pending hatch keepers.
Ones for sale I have about 60 day olds to 2/14 hatch chicks.
Plus a few to hatch yet.
In the picture there is 7 brichen Marans ,3 bcm, 4 slw,2blrws,14 jg's,1 call duckling,8 ee/oe chicks
So not all are jg's they minus the blrw's are breeder chicks we will grow out and pick from.
The jg's I will keep till right at to over a year old before I sell any of them.
Others will then out where the extra cockerels will go once the breeder cockerel is picked.
I will have more jg's them anything if all the chicks hatch out of the newer eggs.
I have a lot of weeding out of the ee's/oes too.

Thanks also!

Got my first 4 Jersey Giants today at the Oregon Chickens Swap.  2 Blacks and 2 Blues.  3 have already layed me a egg on the way home from the swap.  They are just under a year of age.  Got them from birdsnbeast and the blues are out of Shar Jennings line.  Love them   They are the sweets girls.  Will get pictures tomorrow  and post them.  Not planning on showing them.  They are just for pet and my yard but I would like to know what everyone thinks of them.  They have been with a rooster who was wonderful so their eggs will be fertile.

It's the shape that makes the breed, and the color that makes the variety.

Silkichicken......nice backgrounds for your chick pics...love 'em...

Does anyone know the genotype for Black Jersey Giants? I can't find it anywhere on the web.

So I'm hoping that someone owning Giants might know.

I made some Black Giant / Black Sumatra chicks last year and I am trying to figure out their genotype.

Now they are big, beautiful and laying daily. I have hatched about 30 of their chicks so far.

Thanks, Nathan

Thanks!

The background is disposable or washable. Boy do babies poop. LOL

Blue/black/splash, doesn't matter! They are all potential big boys!
