also..you can tell by the texture of the dark meat quail that its NOT undercooked...

My Ta&m's are white meat just like wild turkeys' white meat breast . A little darker than a butterball but still white meat on the other hand my bob whites are ALL dark meat Quite a differance between the two

I agree. Just because someone bought their white quail who said they were A & M's, doesn't mean that they are. Since A & M's haven't been produced from the people who developed them at Texas A & M for a while, I would imagine a lot has been lost through non-selective breeding by now. I look forward to seeing more pictures. Maybe there's a reason why they guy happychick charges so much for his hatching eggs. Also, it would be nice if someone else here that claims they have white breasted A & M's would post pictures. BTW, except for the elusive white meat A & M, coturnix quail are considered a dark meat bird even if dove, ducks, etc. have darker meat.

i actually have (i think) 2 left in my freezer from this summer. I'll cook them up this weekend and post a pic of the meat also..'
all i know is, mine wernt true Texas A&M's... but they were mostly all white feathers...a few had small brownish spots in their heads though...
they were sold to me as Texas A&M's... which really gets me kinda mad... because i couldnt eat them..because i dont like dark meat..

Mine do too. They first thought I'm just a bit weird when I decided to pick up chickens as my hobby when I was younger thinking that I would grow out of it. However when you have to stop what your doing to take a pic for the fellow members on BYC... (after you "grow up" so to speak) then they think your nuts!

Especially after you stop dinner... which again I have done! My first turkey that I raised.... had to have that picture!

I saw this seller on ebay too, thought the quail looked pretty good.. I want to raise lots o quail here so might try his too.
UPDATE: I contacted a prior customer of his on eBay through his feedback. She ordered T A&M from him, well here I'll cut-n-paste her note to me:
I did get several eggs from him, took long time for him to ship them and my hatch rate was about 20% on the Texas A&M's and about 24% on the Jumbo Browns, I also purchased 44+ Bulters from him atthe same time and had 10% hatch rate on them. after incubation I checked the eggs and the remainder that never hatched were infertile. So long story short I did spend several dollars and ended up with few birds. As for the size of the A&M's they have not reached maturity as of yet, I hatched several of my eggs at the same time to be able to do a test to see if they were larger than the ones I have. Currently my birds are weighing a consistant ounce to ounce and a half heavier than them on the same rations of feed and same temp and absence of light. I haven't decided as of yet wheather I shall keep any of them as layers.
So, maybe he's not as awesome as previously though, eh?
