Serama Information Needed

There is a computer program called zooeasy that I use it is a record keeping program that makes pedigrees and you fill out the info on your bird and add pictures of them! You can put breedings on it what babies come out of what! its Ideal for poultry and easy to use!

I will also check out the link, it sounds like something I need.

Most of your questions have been answered, but I just wanted to show off my current serama set-up! It's working quite well and my trio are very happy. Apologies for the mess, I just went out and snapped the picture regardless of what was going on, and our garage isn't exactly the neatest place in the world, especially not with chickens kicking up shavings.

One of my hens is being broody at the moment, you can see her all fluffed up.

My pen is made out of those cube sets you can buy at most stores cheaply (go to http://www.guineapigcages.com/ for more info), and it's about 4.5' x 3' x 1' or so! Doesn't take up too much room, large enough for the three to walk around and enjoy themselves, and very inexpensive. I'll probably be moving my seramas into my coop with the rest of my flock when it gets warmer out, but for now this is serving them well.

Let me know if you have any questions!

do you have to buy it, or is it an online thing?

I think its $75 one time fee! There is a free download trial ill get the link and post it in a sec....but its well worth it!

i know this thread is from 2009, but my serama pullet layed her first egg yesterday! last week she weighed 17.49 oz, yesterday after her first egg she weighed 20.50 oz (empty crop). does this mean another egg today!?!?!?!?! this serama hen layed at 4 and a quarter month old, 2 months before her parents did (i never use any kind of hormones) ( and her parents are smaller than her). not only that! my only rooster i have is 3 months old and hasn't even started clucking yet! the egg had a bullseye! it was fertile! so to you guys think i will be getting another egg today???? the roo is a Bantam Lavender Americauna, and the hen is a Clack with some gold Serama.

I took this pic 2 week ago... you can see the growth in her comb!

A trio will usually go through two cups(pellets) in a day and a cup and a half of mash in a day! They will waste some here and there! So your looking at about 10 to 15 pounds of feed a month give or take.

My Seramas don't half of that! I have a trio, they eat about 1 cup of laying pellets a day and i always give some chopped up fruits and vegetables.:)
