Beautiful photos. Here are my hens today. I have two hens and a roo (the roo will be going soon)
They are 5 months old. Should be laying anytime. I just love their lacing!
I dream of a day where chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned
Me and my Hubby, 2 dogs, 1 French Cuckoo Maran, 1 Barred Rock, 5 RIR's, 1 Easter Egger, 2 Leghorns, 1 Araucana, 2 Mottled Cochins, 2 Cochin Cross, 1 Frizzle, 1 Phoenix, and 1 question mark.

I like it because it has drawings.

I know what you mean! My bantams sound like 50 year smokers trying to play a busted trumpet.
I think his body could be rounder, his feathering fuller and his tail set lower. His head could be wider and the comb should be smaller and closer to the head and I'd like to see his legs a bit shorter. There are very few good gold laced Wyandottes out there so you have your work cut out for you. I think your rooster combined with the right hens is a good start. I found a good combination of lines for my BLRWs and it came from first picking out some physical characteristics that were important me like wide heads and tight combs. When I bred for these two things it seems like the heavier, rounder bodies with shorter legs followed. Along with that, I found a line that gave me the crisp lacing and tone of blue that I so love. It is really hard to get all of the qualities that make the Wyandotte standard but I am having fun working on it
