I think Walt Reichert is in Ohio, isn't he? I think I've got his email around here somewhere.

Walt has some AMAZING Sussex from what I hear, and I was hoping to get stock from him a few years back, but shipping wasn't an option at the time. His Speckled Sussex were spoken of very highly at the Ohio Nationals and I wasn't as thick in the projects and breeds as I am now. Sure wish I'd gotten some!!

Walt Reichart is in Knetucky. Does some real nice winning down there with his LF Speckled Sussex. I didn't know Walt Leonard had LF Speckled Sussex.

 Best,

 Karen

He doesn't I just thought he might be able to help find them, but I think it's Overton and Reichart for the best of the best

Don't forget Tony Albritton in Idaho or Washington State (don't remember which).

Karen,
Thanks for posting this. I contacted Walt and he agreed to sell me some eggs as soon as fertility is confirmed. He doesn't ship chicks or adults.

At what age could I start weeding out my Speckled Sussex cockerels? They are 3 months old now. I have 4 and would like to keep the best one for breeding purposes. This is my first experience with SS and I just love them. They are SO friendly, even the roos. I don't have a SOP to go by and with my little experience with chickens, I really need some help with this process. If I submit some photos, what should they be of? I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Martha

Thank you, 3rivers, I'll start working on those photos. Are they the right age, at 3 months, or should I give them longer to mature?
