You have to get this perfectly level for the water to work and then sometime it still leaks. You have to monkey around with for it to work. The handle is welded cheaply and busted off...

seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

its a feed scooper it cant be perfect but over all when every thing is said an done i love mine its great its starting to show a little wear an tear but its to be expected i have had it for 4...

I am new to the light sussex but so far they seem to be adorable little things.

Love love love the sussex! All the speckleds are so beautiful!
I'd be interested to know about the beak too. In the SOP it just says 'white, shaded with horn'. So what color is horn? Horns can be grey or black cant they? Anyway it would be interesting to know the genetics of it and if it is a sex-linked characteristic. Any ideas?

Yup even in the chicken world the girls mature faster!
They are huge birds. I've never weighed them. I'd have to grab one and bring it in to the scale and weigh both of us and then subtract and depending on how honest I am with myself it could weigh a whole lot!!
Last nite one of the roos crops was soo full and hard it just bulged out and I was a bit worried but this mornin it was empty again. Sure looked funny at the time tho!
