For those allergic to cats: Question regarding hypoallergenic cats

I have a cornish rex, he's a sweet boy!

My hubby is mildly allergic, but our cat doesn't seem to bother him at all.

Best thing to do would be to "borrow" the cat for a while to see if there is any reaction at all.

Thanks for all your help! I don't think we're going to get an indoor cat any time in the near future – I was just wondering if it was possible to live with a certain breed of cat even if you had allergies.

Kelly G - RumTum Tugger is so very cute! He looks like a sweetie. I like his eyes especially. I had a cat once whose eyes were a bit like those – not so orange, though. She was a Siamese cross. She was so pretty.

Wildsky – I love your rex's coat. Is it pretty soft?

MaggieRae – Pretty Maine Coon. I love how fluffy he is.

I definitely have allergies to SOME cats. It's strange because I cannot be in the same house with some cats, and yet, others I can hold them, pet them, etc. We went to our local shelter and played with the kittens one day this past summer. There was a litter there and I had no reaction to them whatsoever. We adopted a brother and a sister and I can hug them, pet them, and they even ride on my shoulders with absolutely no allergic reaction. I would just advise someone to spend a good amount of time with the cat, and see if you have any allergic reaction. Of course, that being said, you can also develop allergies, too!

Yep like velvet, folks can't stop touching him once they start. His fur is slightly wavy as well, it feels awesome!

Sounds like a really cool cat! No pun intended.
