I wish our girl (4ft Rosy Boa) would eat... she seems fat & sassy but hasn't eaten since she came here from my mom's. She killed & ignored the first mouse a month ago... we took it after a day or so, when it got stinky, and offered another one a week ago & today but took it out when she ignored it for 10 minutes.
How do you know when they _need_ to eat?
Thanks in advance lots of experience with mammals, zero with Herps
Wish I could help you, but I had the same problem with the rosy boa we had. He was young though and I guess wasn't an eater. Is your snake warm enough when eating? I've heard, but haven't tried that you can make the mouse smell like something else, another lizard, or chicken and it may have more interest.
Now we have the corn snake, and he eats great! The 1st time we fed him though he didn't eat and I was worried. Thought it must be us, but then he shed. *Phew* Now he eats great. Good luck with your rosy.
