anyone live in Pa - Page 37

I'm in Allentown (Upper Macungie actually)...nice to see so many people in the area!

My parents are in Flemington, NJ...I have an aunt and her family in Pottstown....I at one point lived in Washington twp, NJ (still have family friends there)...another point was in Bethlehem...and another point outside of Pittsburg.

Anyone else around here have seramas?  ...I don't have any yet, but hopefully my eggs will hatch!

Well, I don't need any sheep - but - I did notice on your signature that you have peafowl. Here in Venango county, none of the locals' peahens are laying yet. Do you happen to sell peafowl eggs or (better yet) chicks?

Just got my first egg yesterday so we'll see if any hatch.  I should have peachicks for sale later in the season.  My other hen never lays any eggs until June & July.  How may are you looking for?  I only have two hens of laying age.

I share space with 1 daughter, 1 very tolerant man (Himself), and an assortment of swans, quail, peafowl, turkeys, guineas, ducks, geese, and (of course) various and copious chickens and I might as well mention there are sheep, goats, horses. rabbits, cats, dogs, a mule & a snake around the place as well.

Congrats on your first egg of the season!
I was originally thinking of having a pair - but it really depends on a few things...
#1 - My husband's mood when I ask him how many peafowl I can have
#2 - How many chickens/chicks/incubating eggs I already have when the peachicks become available
#3 - How much do you charge for peachicks?
I have quite a bit of control over factors #1 & #2, so once I'm aware of #3, I can make plans.
At what age can you determine if you have peahens or peacocks? Just wondered.

I have various chickens - including "RIRs", Turkens, Silkies, and EEs, Anconas, Cornish, Brown Leghorns, etc. I always have some sort of project going on - right now we're raising a batch of meaties. 4 rescued dogs. 4 rabbits, including 2 English Angoras! We also are branching out to Turkeys - right now 4 BBB, but 4 Midget White Turkeys are on the way!

Hey PA people, in case you haven't seen the posting, we are having a Chickenstock in Berks county at the 4H facility on July 18. That's a Saturday. The 4H grounds are located in Leesport, PA just outside of Bern township and a few minutes from US222 and PA183.

Everyone is invited and anyone who wants to B/S/T birds, small livestock or arts/crafts just PM me. I'm getting the "booths" lined up and will be advertising for other vendors.
