Sebrights

I can't help you much as I got mine as adults and keep them in pastures(with fencing on the top).  They are very hard to catch, and I'm sure they could fly pretty well, as they are a banty.

I got 5 young ones(already several months old) recently. 3 cockerels and 2 pullets.  They are VERY friendly..  surprised me as they kind of have a reputation for being a little nervous?  These guys pace impatiently along the wire for me to come up to them  or let them out..  they like to follow me around if I'm outside.  They even do the 'wait for me!' call if I walk too far ahead. They seem to like staying very close together so I would assume if raised with silkies and cochins, they will stay close and low with them?  I can tell they would be extremely good flyers but they have not tried to fly high or far outside of the pen yet.  Keeping them confined to a pen with only occasional free ranging.. so far they never flew while free ranging but then they fly up and down from perch in pen quite well.

So far they are all nice, the hens are sweet,  the roosters are very active but also nice..  they do show a little "spunkiness"  in them..  very quick to rush and 'help out' a hen or chicks squawking in distress.  They are unbelievably beautiful, pictures do not do them justice.  I like them.

Mine are nice but flighty.  The man I got them from didn't handle his birds a whole lot.

I've had mine since they were a few days old and I handle my chickens a lot, and they're reasonably standoffish. Not the friendliest breed. That said, they're not total freaks or anything, they just prefer not to be handled. They let me approach them and whatnot without problems, though. They're a beautiful breed, and nice to keep (even though I keep my flock as pets, I don't mind that some are a little less affectionate than others), but if you want snuggles I'd stick to seramas, cochins, silkies, and OEGB. When spring comes I'll probably get a few more sebrights, though, as I lost my only golden and I'd like a buff-laced or two if I can find them.

My Sebrights are some of my favorite birds. Like some people have said, they don't mind me being near them and aren't too fond of me holding them, but they still don't mind. I held mine a lot as chicks and as they grew so mine aren't as flighty. The only time I would have one fly is if the whole flock was darting to their favorite scratch spot. The highest I've had one fly is about 6 ft. My rooster (see avatar) is also fairly quiet, but I wouldn't count on all Sebright roosters to be like him. Some can be quite cocky and loud. Overall I think they are a great breed

Oh, while we're on the subject.  I have three silvers and my roo isn't really of type...I need some more.   My boss has a golden, would I get a little of each if I borrowed him?
