Rhode island? Ocean state, anyone else out there?

Does anyone know where I can get some young ducklings asap? I have a day-old Mallard single hatchling that needs some company desperately. Willing to consider other breeds and will drive to pick up most anywhere in New England. Please let me know if you know of any options.

Good enough your link was super interesting! They seem to have lower prices than the hatcheries! Will have to make a visit to see the place. Currently getting ready to do egg hatching with my sons kindergarten class! Super excited!
 
I ordered pullets from The Hatching House in Brooklyn Ct. http://thehatchinghouse.com/
They seemed to have interesting breeds and I like preferred picking them up myself rather than having birds shipped. I've never had chickens before and am beyond excited- have NO idea what I'm doing.I didn't want little babies- we are only zoned for 6 chickens and I didn't want to risk roosters or some not making it. So pullets should be ready and waiting this spring. If you haven't checked out Cluck in Providence they make the whole chicken thing pretty irresistible. They too are a resource for local chicks and pullets.
 
First winter with chickens. What do I do with them this weekend. They are 8 months old and their coop doesn't currently have any heat source. Do I leave them out or bring them into house or put them in stall in barn with horses (but still cold and unfamiliar)? I am in northwestern corner so -7 F predicted.

We live not far away in Massachusetts and have similar situation. We have two infrared heat lamps in our coop that we plug into thermostatic outlets. Doing so automatically turns the lamps on if the coop temp drops below 35 and off again if it goes over 45 degrees. Works really well to keep them wam while saving lots of money. You can pick them up at a Lowes or Home Depot pretty easily.
 
We have te same thermostatic outlets. We got ours from tractor supply. Do you still have your heat lamp from when they were young? Just make sure it's not to close to the bedding! You can also help them by giving them cracked corn in the evening. I've read that as it digests it heats them
Up a bit, help them out a little. Got mine at tractor supply as well
