I have a question...of morals. LONG.

I could understand how a bitter man raising poultry would give one stern warning to new neighbors with dogs.

How many of you haven't had your pets or investments torn to shreds by your neighbors dogs? if you would have warned the neighbors outright it probably never would have happened. But thats besides the point.

Any animal coming onto my property and eating my feed, is mine. The neighbor can gripe all he wants, but if he aint gonna take care of his birds, I will, and I'll also eat them and sell them however i see fit. Posession is 9/10s of the law, and by being on your property, they are in your posession.

Great news Deb, glad it all worked out for yall. You're defintely a poultry magnet, lol. They know you are a good person & will take good care of them.

Well, I'm definitely glad it worked out, in that he doesn't mind if you keep the birds.

What worries me though is that he obviously cares so little for the animals in his care. It really makes me wonder what else he has over there that is starving or neglected.

Do you think there is a way you can call Animal Control and report him anonymously so they go out there and check it out? I wouldn't do it if you think he'll suspect you though; he could be dangerous.

Some people just shouldn't be allowed to have animals. Period.

lol. this guys sounds like he belongs in my neighborhood. i totally get his attitude. not saying it's mine, but not everybody thinks of food animals as pets. gruff, but then laughs and says you got yourself a new turkey. yes, he would fit right in here. my billygoat has a stained beard and he's not so bad.

sometimes morals are not really black and white even though we like to think they are. in his mind, by straying on your property, his belongings became yours. so he's applying the same values as he would have if your dogs came on his land.

it's taken me a while to get used to the different ways of thinking around here, but there is a logic to it even if it's different.
