I would love to know the answer to this question. I have a color chart for the Ameraucana eggs and assumed it was good for the Araucana also, but now you've got me wondering. How's the hatch going? Standard or banties and are they your own eggs or from someone else?
I'm super bummed at the moment because my Araucana eggs from skyblueeggs just candled at a total loss. 100% detached air sacs and at day 5 now there is no sign of development in any of the eggs. All the RIR eggs in there with them are going gang busters, but nothing from the Araucana eggs. I have never had nothing from a batch of eggs before. Very, very disappointing. They must have had a very tough trip over, for every single air sac to have been dislodged.

Araucanas often have poor fertility, anyway. That's why I don't like to sell araucana eggs.
I just hatched my first batch of araucana eggs for this year. Mind you, these are my very own eggs. They are from a pen containing four hens and one roo. I set about 12 eggs. ONE of the eggs was fertile. So it happens!

yeah, so I've heard, but I had hopped for something. Disappointed but not not dissuaded. If my Araucana rooster is any indication, then I know exactly why Araucana eggs are so infertile - my guy is honestly unable to "do the deed" correctly. He tries to mount backwards and chases the girls for hours on end but I have never, not once, seen him catch one AND figure out which end is right way round. Which is all for the best seeing as how he could not be a worse representation of the breed. I really want a tufted blue rooster to cover my dynamite black Araucana hen. She is beautiful, tough, smart, and lays fantastic eggs. Show quality except for the lack of tufts. Totally worth carrying on her gene pool. Happy hatching amazondoc!
I got my first batch of araucanas from skyblueeggs. In my case, I had 11 eggs ship to Puerto Rico. Five hatched without problem this weekend. Beautiful and strong chicks. Four died in the shell prior to hatching and two were infertile. So, in my case, I think a had a little more luck. Maybe in your next run it will be different. Don't loose faith.

THAT'S FANTASTIC!!!!!!! I have been thinking of you and wondering if there was any way the eggs made it to you still viable. Well, I guess so! Congratulations! Any photos of the babies?
