This group is what I hatched last fall. They are all tufted except the blue girl on the right.

So I noticed everyone was mentioning a barred rooster and instantly I said to myself - "WHERE?!" Don't know how I missed this post! Very nice boy, wow, I've been waiting for someone to hatch out another black barred Araucana. smile.png

Is he pure?

Thanks Jeremy- that would explain where these random pure black chicks keep coming from.

Cheers

Coberdor,

Have you been hatching any from the splash roo that you got from me?   I'd love to see his babies

I am getting a lot of splash, cuckoo and lavender chicks. I know this is not an accepted color but have any of you shown these colors? If so what was the end results....

I've seen a blue cuckoo on the ACA show results site for a couple years ago, seen a few splash too, no lavenders though but you can't go anywhere beyond Best of Variety wink.png

What I don't get is, the blue cuckoo was clean faced. I've seen a duckwing on the results page that had all its primaries and secondaries clipped too. Not sure what kind of show they were participating in. . .

I've got three splash double tufted roos, a carbon copy of him.  I'm letting them develop to choose the best body build before I sell the other two.  I also got a doubled tufted blue roo, but with a tail.  I may use him with my cuckoo hens that are rumpless and clean faced.  I don't want the cuckoo to wash out too much.  He's the only one with any tail that was born.  I've post a few pics of some of the others here.  These are where my test eggs are coming from.  The other pen, where Spot is, just finished molting and are just now starting to lay again.  I have one cuckoo pullet from Spot, that is double tufted, though they are small.

If you go back a couple of pages, you can see more pics.
