It really seems to take the  Araucana a long while to warm up to the hatching season - myAraucana hatches are getting better and better here as well, and that is after a couple of utterly pathetic months.  It is so encouraging!

I've actually reached out to them...they don't have anything available this season unfortunately.  I know of an AUS one and a UK one...but the overseas thing is a little much in my opinion.  I have no idea what color his hatch ended up being.  Please keep me in mind if you come across any breeders of these chickens!

Here are some updated pics of my chicks from corborder.  They are eight weeks now.  I just love seeing tufts!

I just love these chicks.  Three out of my four chicks have tufts.  I feel so lucky.  I might actually begin breeding Araucanas.  I love this little cockerel.  I have no idea about his color.  When he was a baby he had a very faint duckwing pattern.  He is clean faced, but I want to use him.  I will need advice on how I can use him.

He came from my red Pyle hen. You've hatched out a lot of tufted from my birds. I really like the ligule tufted silver duckwing. I've hatched out a couple too, but just one tufted.

It's nice to see my chicks doing well. smile.png

Coberdor - It's nice that you were willing to share your eggs with us!!!  love.gif

Poularde - I'm grateful you shared your pics - I have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks!  I'm curious - is that an all white one?  Was it pure yellow at birth?  If you look back a few posts I posted a few pics of my chicks from Corberdor that hatched Friday.  I bet you recognize a few!  I'm pretty sure I got a blue like you.

Nice chicks. The male shown below can be used for duckwing and possibly pyle but honestly he looks more to me like a splash bird with red leakage. He isn't a true pyle unless and until his secondaries fill in red, otherwise he's a white or splash carrying red leakage from recessive duckwing (or BBR/Wheaten) Handsome fella!

If anyone is interested, I've got some Araucana eggs available to ship this Tuesday, PM me. Kinda late notice I know, but, I'd hate to see them get eaten. Got 2 dozen total here and I can't hatch them myself at the moment.

Oh, and in (rather late) response to Cashdl / Lanae - Josephine JR is out of Marango. (father) She's actually a bit of a surprise as honestly I was hatching all eggs from my silver girl at the time, but, looks like Josephine snuck an egg in there. I had no problems though, I just didn't think she would at the time; she was running around loose and laying here and there.

Well, I've got no tufted Araucana chicks younger than 5 months at the moment but I do still have two tufted Olive Eggers, lost one of the three sadly, but the other two are strong and growing well. Looks to be two boys so far and I'm perfectly fine with that! smile.png

Yes, I do have an all white one.  She was an all yellow chick.  smile.png

So I am still trying to get color down.  Here is a pic of that same cockerel at about a week old.  So this a duck-wing pattern as a chick correct?

Then at about three weeks.  He almost looked like he had cuckoo coming through.

Sorry for all the pics.  I am just trying to understand.  He is not a complete duck-wing unless he gets color on his primaries.  Is he a splash incomplete duck-wing?  I swear I will get this down.  barnie.gif

Any leads would be very helpful!

I got eggs from South of time farms in Tx.  I got 12 eggs and only 2 chicks went to lockdown.  Being real new to trying to hatch arancuanas, I don't know how much shipping them from Tx to Mi might have had on hatchability or whether riding in an extremely cold truck did them in.  But anyway I got a silver chick and a lavender.  But like I said, neither made it.  I would definately buy from Marie at South of Time again in a heart beat.  She knows her stuff and has been at this for a long time.

I thought I better add a pic of his chest.  Not sure if the red on the chest changes anything.  Thanks in advance for all your help.
