That is hilarious Wisher! She's very pretty! Also, question for everybody. These are my roosters, tentatively named The Colonel and Original Recipe just in case something happens. I was told that they were Dominikers, but clearly they aren't. Does anyone know what breed they are? I suspect that they may be a hybrid, as their hackles have bits of orange and gold and their tail feathers are a beautiful iridescent green. They still retain their barring on the lower half of their body and in their hackles and tail feathers. I'm also going to post this on the main chicken thread as well.

And the reason I didn't know they were Doms is because I got them as adolescents, when they were still fully barred. Also, they are single combed.

Definately a barnyard cross, but I would guess Barred Rock as the major contributor instead of Dominique.  Handsome fellas though!  Love the bit of gold laced in!

Hi Y'all!

Is there anyone in Baldwin County (I live in Lillian) who would like to split a turkey order from McMurray in say June? I want to get a variety of Heritage breeds including Bourbon red, Blue slate, Royal palm, Narragansett, and Standard bronze. But the minimum order is 15. I don't want or need 15 turkeys. The price is $10.43 each. Or if anyone knows of someone local who offers these varieties I would rather buy local, Thanks.

Does anyone raise/know anybody that raises Mille Fleur D'uccle bantams or Welsh Harlequin ducks around Alabama? I would love to have both to add to my flock.

Wonder if anyone else is planning a trip to the Chicken and Egg Festival in Moulton this April?  Anyone been in the past?  I'm just wondering if it would be worth the networking?  I'm guessing you could find a lot of breeds that aren't too common?  We are planning to go.  Just hope it's actually about birds and not JUST an arts and crafts thing?

I have heard that it is not too "chicken centered" but is getting better.  I've never gone, but have looked into going and decided it would be more of a family outing than a chicken swap.  I seem to remember someone saying there were a few more chicken hobbyists there last year than usual.

I have actually been asking around about having/coordinating a swap/meet-n-greet here in Tuscaloosa (it is pretty central) in the spring.  How many of you would a) attend, b) bring eggs, chicks, adults, c) volunteer to help?
