Agreed! I feed it to my dogs and cats for a flea preventative. Apparently the fleas don't like the taste of yeast. It's worked for my critters so far.
Brewer's Yeast- OK for chickens?

I believe I saw it as one of the ingredients in Calf-Manna. You might check this out as a way to add it to their diet.
Yeast is used in a lot of Purina feeds for horses..
It's also known as Nutritional Yeast. And yes I give it to my chickens, sprinkled on their treats often. I also sprinkle it on dog and cat foods. The animals love it.

Yes, for any type of leg problems yeast is the deal. It does not have to be brewer's yeast though. With the chickens that are prone to leg problems I just use regular Fleishmann's yeast.
Never heard about the fleas and ticks thing. I know in chickens the yeast is going to do a bit of good with external bugs. Of course with waterfowl you don't have that problem anyway. saladin

It says that the feed doesn't include enough niacin for the ducklings/ducks so people recommend it
