Southwest Ohio

Hi Jen,

Thanks for starting this. We are fairly new to Backyard Chickens and are learning the rules.
We specialize in breeding Australorps Blue, Black and Splash.
We live in Middletown Ohio. We are listed as BluRoo Farm OH.

Can I join the group if I LOVE SW Ohio but live in Maine? My daughter went to college out there and I visited Cedarville/Springfield/Beaver Creek a few times. I would have moved in a heartbeat if the rest of the family had

I am so glad I found this thread! I, too, am in SW Ohio, near Greenville, which is not overly far from Dayton. We currently have 32 chicks and I literally just placed an order for, hold on, let me check my invoice lol, 11 more.

We have 8 Easter Eggers, 2 Black Sex Links, 6 Welsummer, 4 Jersey Giants, 2 Amber Sex Links, 5 of an unknown breed as TSC grabbed the wrong type for me and now I don't know what I have lol, 1 ISA Brown, 1 RIR, 3 Plymouth Rocks, and I just ordered 1 Silver Gray Dorking, 6 SR Frizzles, 1 Buff Orp, 1 Australorp, and 2 Surprise me pullets.

It's ridiculous what an addiction they are, so hopefully w our mini farm started this year and diving further in next, we will be able to sell off the extra eggs....what will that put me at..43 chicks lol They really are such fun though.

I have 1 Welsummer Male and for sure 1 of the Unknowns is a male, so hopefully they play nice as I'd like to keep them both.

If the Spring Poultry Swap/Meet is still going on, (I know this thread is old, and I have not read through it all yet) I am excited to attend!

Hey There,
So glad to have you join in. Yes, they are very addictive. We live fairly close; so that's awesome!. We just moved to Camden, OH. We're selling our 3 goats. So if you decide to add goats to your mini farm, give us a should. Two are Nigerian Dwarf, and 1 pygmy Nigerian /Dwarf Cross. (2 females and 1 male) They are all very sweet.
