Christie Rhae, if you ever come to the states you might be able to pick up some eggs and take them back with you as carry on. That would probably end your hatching woes. Eggs that are shipped are placed in an unpressurized compartment of the plane and is likely the cause of the air sacs bursting. Carry on would cure it.

I bookmarked you when I saw that you are raising andalusians! My 18 year old son is going to college in Reno. I know exactly where Fallon is! I lived in Reno for 7 years back in early 90's. If I ever go over there I will be sure to send you a message. Actually... my son will be coming home for the summer...hmmmm
If I am not able to get my shipped eggs to hatch I may need him to be my egg carrier! lol

post #405 of 6433/20/12 at 11:57amI'm having the worst fertility on my Blue Andalusians. Weeks of eggs in the incubator, and only one chick. The last batch had two fertile eggs out of fourteen, and it's sad that I consider that a great improvement. I swapped roosters about three weeks ago, so I hope the new one is better. I have one more waiting in the wings if he doesn't work out, but this is frustrating!I lost my whole flock due to poor biosecurity. Read about it here: Infectious Laryngotracheitis, and learn from my mistakes so it doesn't happen to you.I lost my whole flock due to poor biosecurity. that is frustrating. How many girls are with the rooster? Have you checked to see if the rooster might have mites- I know that will effect his drive to mate. Is it possible that the rosster has 1 favorite girl and is only mating with her? Good Luck, hope you have better fertility going forward. Our Crew: 2 human adults, 3 human kids, 1 Aussie,1 Cocker, 5 rabbits, Andalusians, Welsummers, Cuckoo Marans, IB and White Peafowl, 1 pair Red Golden Pheasants

I had checked for mites, but I will check again, thanks for the tip. I've only got three hens in with the rooster right now, as one got into the turkey pen and that was the end of her. I did see the new cockerel trying to get his groove on today. The old one is still lurking around the pen, so at least his drive to take care of his hens is pretty good.I lost my whole flock due to poor biosecurity.
