Blue Andalusian thread!

Pics
My girls are 8 weeks old this week and as far as I can tell, all my blue Analusians survived the bear attack.

I still can't really tell them apart. They are rarely together (5 blues in all), and so active I am lucky to get an un blurry shot.

It was a young bear that went through the neighbourhood feeding out of wild bird seed stations and chicken food. This is our first spring on the property and we are learning the hard way what the local bears do when they wake up. By the end of this week the chicken coops will be part of the dog yard, so no more just wandering up to the buffet.

Pullets, yes. Out of an order of 12 straight run chicks, none of the surviving birds are looking very rooster ish. Oh, wait. I feel a bout of chicken math coming on.....how many chicks do I need to order to be sure of a boy?

Hi everyone. I said a couple of weeks ago that I would post some pics of my other Andalusian chicks and I am just getting around to doing it. I'll start with the one that I posted about in post #887 who was supposed to be a girl, but turned out to be a boy. His name used to be Sylvia, but now it is Salvador. He has been very friendly ever since I got him at just a few days old.
He is 8 weeks old now in these 2 pics.
Now for my girls who are 7 weeks old. I have 2 blue, 2 black, and one splash. Most of them are still pretty skittish, but the splash will let me pick her up and hold her any time I want to. She loves to be petted. One of the blue ones will come up and sit on my lap or my shoulder or back and doesn't care if I pet her at those times, but if I just decide I want to pick her up...nope. One of the blacks is very curious when I am out there visiting with them. She will get right up close and just stretch out her neck and look at me and seem like she wants to be petted, but as soon as I try to she runs away, lol. The other black one and the other two blues are nowhere near being tame yet. None of them are mean. It is just very hard to catch them if I want to, but once I do they will eventually calm down a bit. Here are their pics: This is my splash. Her name is Willow.
Here are the black ones. They don't have names yet.
The first one is the curious one. All I could get of the other one was a rear shot. She would not let me get a good picture of her.
Now for the blues. No names for them yet either.

This last one is a lighter blue than the others.
Sorry about the blurriness. She just wouldn't be still. Sorry about the quality of some of the other pics too. When you have 4 or 5 chickens sitting on your arms and shoulders it's kind of difficult to take pics, lol. My splash is actually very white and her color splashes stand out more than in these pics. She looks kind of yellowish in the pics to me. Guess that's a lighting thing. I also have a question. I know that Andalusians are supposed to have white ears, but with the exception of my splash and my roo, all of mine have dark bluish black looking ears. Will that change as they get older? It doesn't really matter to me because I don't show them or anything. Just curious.
