Trader Joes & Other Grocery Store Egg Hatching Club - Are you a Member

Hi all! Thought I'd revive this thread. I hatched out some Trader Joe's chicks several months ago, and they went to a friend of mine. She just sent me a picture of one of the roos. This is a TJ's chick, but it ended up having brown on it! Anyone else seen this in their TJ's chicks? He's so pretty.

I've never seen one with that color! Only white or white with black. It's a nice looking bird though.

Is anyone on here from Washington State - Puget Sound area? I can't find any fertile eggs at Costco Winco or TJs and was wondering if you and another idea? Thanks
I am in Portland and no one sells eggs labeled fertile. Uwajimaya in Beaverton sells pasture eggs that have the potential to be fertile. Tacoma Boys might also have pasture eggs. I get fertile hatching eggs from a local feed store.

Do you have a Raleys? They have labelled fertile eggs in California. They are a nice medium brown egg.

Day 14 update! . I marked air cells and candled today. We still have 4 growing like crazy and wiggling up a storm in there. I'm pretty thrilled these guys seem to be doing so well. They're going to have some TJ siblings close behind as well. There are 5 on day 7 with good movement and visible heartbeats :) one died within the last day or so. There was a blood ring and you could see the embryo just floating. Sad, but a part of hatching I guess.

Day 14 babies:
400

400

And a day 7:

400

I set a dozen from Trader Joes yesterday along with some fun backyard mutts - 5 days old according to the Julien date - hope I get a good hatch.
