Bee in their bonnet... LOL more like a WASP!

Nope the ad is completely compliant with craigslist rules and I think I explain the auction situation, but maybe I'll look at the ad again...  Over the years I've posted many many ads for all kinds of things and I've had this problem a couple of other times but only with chickens for sale, even ones that had the pricing spelled out and no auctions, so there must be someone out there with a WASP in their bonnet!! LOVE THAT Debi

I was going to say that the bee was somewhere else but thought that I better tone it down to something more family friendly. smile.png

Karen originally asked Walt for some help with showing. Then I asked for help with selection for breeding. This was on the CA entire state thread. I'm the one trying to organize an actual class for this. I'm not familiar with the Santa Rosa area, so brought it up here.

Personally, I would like hands on instruction, with actual poultry at the class. Biosecurity is an issue, so it would probably be better to have it somewhere where poultry is not housed. I will look into the 4H building.

Walt, since it was Karen who first came up with the idea, would you rather concentrate on a class dedicated to showing? Or can you cover the more basic things, selection for breeding, as well?

Thank you for making yourself available.

Kim

Just to be clear folks.....the show season is winding down, but racing season is starting the beginning of March through Nov, so I am always busy. I will make time to do a talk, demo...... whatever, with you folks, but it will have to be relatively close to where I live. In the past I have noticed that the location of these meet ups has been close to however organizes these events, so I don't think my request is unreasonable and anything concerning my schedule has to come from me....no one else..... I am the only one who knows my schedule.

I just offered as a help to those that might have questions about poultry and I don't see that it has to be in conjunction with any other meetup unless  it works out that way. If anyone is interested in such a thing, find out when I am available and work out the arrangements, topics, etc and venue. It seems simple to me.

I had this problem recently on the Bay area CL. I went to their forum to ask what was up. Anyone can flag any ad for any reason. IMO, animal rights activists go on there and flag any animals for sale. I had to simplify my ad and keep resubmitting it until whoever was flagging it gave up.

I will make myself available for most of one day. We can cover a lot and I would be happy to look at birds, give breeding/showing suggestions......whatever you like.

You and Karen set it up and I will make time to do it. Feel free to PM me with any questions or requests. The 4H building in Rohnert Park is a great venue. They have the room(s) chairs, tables etc. I have done many poultry talks/exhibits there.

I so relate to that...................I have a free ranging, free loader. Delawars cockerel almost fully grown that hangs out in one of my fenced side yards. He rambles around eating feed that falls from the quail cages & bug or whatever & walks right up on to the raised deck outside the french doors to my livingroom & yesterday my husband opened the door to go out & that rooster thought it was his invitation to come in..........LOL

Cheryl, about your Craigslist Ad. That is terrible. I hope they catch whoever is doing it & bans them from the site. I run Craigslist ads all the time & have good luck with them.

Do no harm...............

I've also listed several ads on Craigslist to sell chooks, I personally have never had any issues.

I actually think I might have an ad running right now.

WOW today is NUTZ!!! Preparing for a big meeting over at Yelp, picking up eggs/chicks/adults at post office.  My brain is on overload. But in a fun good kinda way celebrate.gif

Feels very much like a chicken factory here today.  I've got eggs in five incubators, one filled with eggs that are to be shipped out today, one filled with MFL & buff laced brahmas hatching, another 3 just incubating...

Then a cage of the new rhodebar pair I got this am, a brooder full of mille fleur chicks and blue laced barnevelders... I'm loving it!!

And so many nice compliments on my birds and what I'm doing to preserve them...that's my favorite part.
