Does coccidiosis affect dogs as well as chickens!!

I don't care if its the same protozoa or not--I know everything around here can get coccidiosis! My chickens had it. My rabbits in pens off the ground got it. Then our beautiful kitten got it. We were just about to take him for euthanasia, but I decided to try some sulmet on him. He started to improve immediately and is now a big, beautiful healthy cat. I just assumed that I am probably unwittingly running a protozoa farm, with every available species present and thriving. It only seems to affect the very young or very old animals. Or one who was weakened for some reason, like a rabbit who was a new mother.

That's correct.  The strains that affect dogs are different than the strains than affect chickens.  I read that from some reputable source.  I'll find it for you if you'd like.

This is NOT true. Maybe this is old information? These species have become mutated now and YES your dogs can get it from your chickens. I do have a background in microbiology. Actually I am treating my dogs now for coccidiosis they got from eating chicken poop and it's the same strain my chickens have. This information needs to be updated.
