Glad you all like seeing the chicks! 10 hatched, and the last two came today, on my birthday.

Â
Here are my birthday silkies!
Â
Â
The bottom chick has a small crest and a light beak... I hope Cloud, my poor pet quality white cockerel, isn't the dad of it or any others!
(I've been worrying about that this whole time..)Â
I'm also wondering.. will all these white-ish chicks be splash (if Cloud isn't the dad of any, of course)?
Â
The dad should be a Splash, and the three mommas are: Splash, Silver Partridge, and Porcelain/Blue Partridge (in my avatar).
Â
I know these colors don't really go together, besides SplashxSplash, but I was actually hoping for a pretty "odd colored" silkie pullet to keep.

The one on the bottom could be splash and I wouldn't worry about that beak as it will very likely darken. I can't really see the color of the top one but it may be from your porcelain. My porcelain chicks were chipmonk striped at birth but very pale. That chick looks like it has some of those colors.

I still can't get multiple quotes to post? Anyway, thanks, silkielover! Good luck with your hatch.Â
And thanks for answering, peep. I was wondering because 6 out of 10 are white-ish!
And I didn't think all 6 were from that one splash momma hen.
3 of 10 are grayish/black, which I believe is from the silver partridge.
Then I have an adorable chipmunk one, that I'm unsure of (was thinking it was from the Porcelain).
Â
I'm guessing it's a type of partridge? Nevertheless, it's one CUTE chick!

Ok, just went through and looked at all of these cute baby pictures! Guess what else I just did? Ordered more Silkie eggs. I was seriously, going to be done. I want a splash like this one..splash right? I think mine is a splash. I should take pictures, and, on another page, there are those with the two different ages. I see the one with the wing like mine..whew..not worried now. I also want a blue.

Question for all you silkie owners, what do you think about these two silkies? I got them this past Saturday. The bigger one was born 3/28 and the tiny one 4/3. Why is the little one so tiny?? Do you think he is a runt? Or do you think the larger one is so large that it may be mixed with something else? I just find it odd that these two are only week apart and there's that much difference in size. Or maybe I'm just over thinking? (And yes the little one only has 4 toes LOL)Â
Â
This one, my little one has one wing poking out like this little one. That's ok for now, right? I am so learning more about this breed. Have been hatching for a long time. I could probably tell you what to know about the Pure Ameraucana, but have not had this breed until now. She is just precious.ÂÂ
